With the popularity of eBay, wedding dress items and other nuptial items sell very well on the auction website. If you are considering the option to buy off the auction site then there are a few things to first think about.

1. Sizing - Various gown brands may differ in sizes. You may fit in a certain size with one but may not in another. Tip: Get the eBay wedding dress measurements before you commit to buy the item. Also you must get fitted by a seamstress to find out what your gown measurements are. Go to your local seamstress and have you measurements taken.


2. Dress Looks Different In Person Than In Pictures - Yep, it happens.. we've all bought something by a picture only to have it arrive in our mailboxes and look a lot different. Tip: Only buy an eBay wedding dress that has more than a couple of pictures. Look for items on the auction site that has pictures that provide close up photos of wedding gowns, as well as ones that show the whole front and back of the dress.


3. Paying More Than What The Dress Is Worth - Any seller can slap a price up on an eBay wedding dress and claim that it retails for a certain price. Before buying, research the dress online. Type in the brand of the eBay wedding gown in your favorite search engine and find out as much information as you can. You can also talk to gown vendors and ask what the said eBay wedding dress is worth.


4. Pay The Insurance - The insurance may not seem worth it; however, if the eBay dress is damaged in mail transit then you will be a lot happier if you did. Optional mail insurance is a must. If the eBay wedding dress is damaged when it arrives at your door then your mail carrier will reimburse you for the cost of the gown.


5. Return Policy - Not all, but there are some sellers of eBay wedding dress items who will stand behind their product if you are unhappy with your purchase. Many do not as the eBay wedding dress could be damaged and thus, not able to be resold. Luckily, you might run into a seller who will give you X amount of days to return the gown. Check out more than a few power sellers for wedding gowns. You may be able to return the wedding gown, minus the shipping fee and be reimbursed for your money.
